The EPA announced last week that the water supply in forty-nine major cities in the United States is contaminated with pharmaceutical drugs. The drugs are not only introduced by flushing pills but also by solid waste. The types of drugs vary from antibiotics to anti-seizure medication. So far, the tests come back as only a trace. However, when you consider the amount of prescription medication on the market and factor in population growth, in time this can become a serious health concern.
