Blue hairs on the blacktop

I have the upmost respect for my elders but I must draw the line when some of our valued seniors decide to drive. Let us face it you do not give a child a gun so why should we allow someone who is one hundred years old to drive. With reaction times comparable to a drunk on payday paired with thirty-year-old war wagon made of nothing but pure steel, our new fiberglass fuel-efficient machines of the future stands no chance of outrunning them or surviving a collision. Why should my life be at risk so someone can keep his or her independence? If we are to, share the highways with our ancestors there needs to be some safeguards in place and here are a few ideas. Annual driving test for everyone over sixty years of age and they must demonstrate the ability to handle that forty-foot land boat within real driving conditions. Elderly only driving lanes for all those who choose to drive at five miles per hour. In addition, a curfew at rush hour so we can get home to get out of their way, we can put double episodes of Matlock or Murder She Wrote on the television at those times. With a very little perception, we can all see the danger and humor in this subject.

Martin Luther King Jr. Part One

Originally i had intended to write about this man next month , but since his holiday is coming up tomorrow i thought i'd start this evening . First of all this is a subject that will be written in multiple parts . I and Dr. Oblivion will be discussing the history of this so called " man of peace ". From his childhood , his cheating during his collage days , his association with known communist groups in America , his womanizing , and the senate and congressional debate to even have a federal holiday in his honour . First of all let me start by saying Martin Luther King Jr. is not his real name . That name was bestowed to him by his father . His actual name is Micheal King . Martin Luther was a name of a Protestant reformer . So being his father changed his name to Martin Luther King and his son's to Martin Luther King Jr. Neither name change was ever legalized in court . Just something for you to think about while you enjoy this holiday .

Cloverfield

This may be a little presumptuous , but unless something better comes out this year , this will be the best movie of 2008 . Director J.J. Abrams did a wonderful job with this picture . Using a cast of relatively unknown actors and superb special effects he created a sense of fear and paranoia with plenty of action , and just the right dash of humor . This film was definitely worth the price of admission .

Roe vs. Wade a.k.a " Family Planning "

A new national study has been released stating that the number of abortions in this country are down to 1.2 million a year . It's estimated that the number of abortions has dropped by 25% compared to a 1990 survey which had the number of procedures at 1.6 million . So in other words we abort 400,000 fewer babies every year , and that its taken 18 years to get to this point . I don't want to sound pessimistic but that's not a statistic to get excited about . Only in 1976 were the number of abortions lower at 1.18 million . This new study also points out that the reason for the decrease in abortions is the availability of more effective and convenient contraceptives as opposed to abortion . Like i said i can't get excited about these figures . 1.2 million babies butchered every year makes the combat losses suffered in Afghanistan and Iraq not seem some bad . I've heard pro choice people argue that it's a woman's right to choose and that many of them are the victims of rape or incest and my favorite excuse that life doesn't begin at conception . True enough it is a woman's right to choose , but i find it difficult to believe that that much rape and incest occur . Granted i don't have the statistics in front of me , but i'm positive that 1.2 million rapes or incest does not happen every year in this country . Finally the excuse that life doesn't begin at conception . Well if not then when ? Again let me remind you i'm not a scientist , but the way i see it if life doesn't begin at conception then it's not going to begin at all . If there's no conception there's no life . I could be wrong .

The Race Card

Recent comments by Hillary Clinton that civil rights legislation was finally gained under Lyndon B. Johnsons presidency , and omitting John F. Kennedys and Martin Luther King Jrs. roles in making this a reality have caused her considerable trouble with black voters . Currently senators Clinton and Obama are trying to reach some common ground and ease tension with black voters . I've always found it interesting that in any election either presidential , senatorial , or congressional the black vote seems to be the most important . If i can i'd like to make a statement that all of you probably already know , there are more races in this country than just black and white , and also people we elect to represent us should do just that , represent all of us . In this " land of entitlements " blacks i think have the least to complain about . Yet if you mention they're race in anything that they perceive as not" glowing terms " they're offended . Politicians understand this and try to court the black vote with promises of more entitlements . I'd like someone to explain to me why this one particular race of people must stand out before all others ? If you tell me it's because of the U.S. Civil War then don't even bother trying . That conflict has been over for the last one hundred forty three years . So no black alive today has first hand knowledge of those times . If you think it's because of inequality , then i say your reasoning is flawed . Thanks to the works of the NAACP blacks now have equal rights in this country and in some cases i think more rights than any other race of people . I invite you to write me and comment on it .

Mudslinging ......An American tradition .

I must admit , i do love it when Liberals eat their own . Recently some insensitive remarks were made by both the Hillery and Obama camps . Sen. Clintons remarks were that she gave the credit of passing civil rights legislation to former president Lyndon B. Johnson and not through the works of John F. Kennedy or Martin Luther King Jr. This has greatly offended black voters in S.C. . Meanwhile Obama said in effect that his and Hillarys voting record on the Iraq war were the same and basically questioning her experience . Former president Bill ( Slick Willie) Clinton rushed to his wifes defense claiming Obamas ascertains about Hillarys voting record is "the biggest fairy tale i've ever heard " , kind of like when he claimed he never had sexual relations with that intern . He also blamed the media of coddling to Obama , a privilege that Bill believes only belongs to him . In true form Bill Clinton is trying to play both sides of this issue . In interviews on Sirrus satellite talk shows he says he always speaks of Obama in positive terms , basically he's trying to save as many black voters as he can .

I'm just doing the jobs Americans won't do .......for the money

There are advocacy groups out there on t.v. and radio working to blur the lines between legal and illegal immigration . Their trying to convince you that since the laws that are already on the books are not being enforced that there really is no need to abide by them . That the illegals coming across the border from Mexico are honest hard working immigrant , just as our forefathers were . Yet the best part of all they tell us that we're just doing the jobs Americans won't do , as though they were doing us a favor . However what they won't tell you is that they're doing it for considerably less money than the average American would . This intern undercuts average Americans trying for the same job , but yet can't support their families on wages that don't meet the high cost of living . These illegals are not only to be found working on farms but at textile plants , restaurants , the trucking industry , and now hospitals . Well i've always believed you get what you pay for , and so far i haven't been proven wrong yet .

Mars Impact Update !!!!! "Revised"

NASA scientist have now revised their earlier estimates on the possible asteroid impact on Mars by Jan . 30 , 2008 . Using information gathered from four different observatories , scientist now estimate that their is a 1-10,000 chance that asteroid 2007 WD5 will strike Mars . As previously written had the asteroid hit , it would have struck with the force of a 15 megaton bomb and left a crater a half mile in diameter .

Human rights

We have people in the world that would give every cent to their name, travel hundreds of miles and even commit murder in the name of animal rights. However, these same people would not give shelter or a scrap of food to a homeless person. Do not get the impression that I have any problems with animals but let us get some things straight. You think that the environmental, pocket mulching yuppie, morons would get the same kick for helping their fellow man. Daily, you can expect a news story on the idiot box about an animal abuse case and this is the main topic at the water cooler. In the same newscast, we hear of our solders dying, elderly women rapped, drive by shootings but the same people would not shed one tear in their tofu. There are acts of violence to animals that we need to address like overpopulation and the barbaric act of kosher slaughter. Still we need to take care of each other first. Let us get our priorities' straight.

Immigration raid hits Tennessee

Over the weekend I.C.E agents conducted a raid at a Springfield TN. apartment complex forcing some five families who were here illegally to flee . The owner of the apartment complex commented on the negative impact that this action would have on the community . In my opinion the only impact he's feeling right now is in his wallet , which he practically admitted when claiming he'll lose $5,000 this month in cleaning and hauling away what the illegals couldn't carry , and most important of all RENT . The state paper that ran the story put a wonderful spin on it . It talked about the crumpled Christmas trees left behind with all the garland still on them , music cds scattered around , also a discarded spelling test belonging to a grade school student named Alana ( sniff , gulp ) sorry i had a moment . The landlord talked about how wrong , and counterproductive it was for federal agents to come in the middle of night and sweep people away as though I.C.E were some modern day gestapo . I love bleeding heart types and how they continually fail to see the obvious . Of course their going to come at night , that's when most people are home numb nuts ! In all the article left the reader feeling that enforcing immigration laws is bad , and that it breaks up families of hard working migrants trying to etch out a new life for themselves . Well consider this . Some 25 legal citizens are killed ever week in this country from the criminal actions of illegal aliens . That's more in one week than combat casualties in Iraq in one month . Those people have families also , families that are torn apart , so who speaks for them ? Where's the media outrage over this alarming statistic ?

Lt. Dans Worst Movies Of 2007

1. Balls Of Fury-This movie is just another example that the writers strike didn't start soon enough . It's a sad parody of Enter The Dragon , only this time its ping pong paddles instead of kung-fu . This movies only redeeming quality is Christopher Walken who could make a rectal examination funny . 2. Live Free or Die Hard - I like to think repetition breeds weakness , obviously Bruce Willis wasn't thinking about his career when he signed on for this film . I mean yeah it had action , and yeah it had some funny punch lines , but when you get right down to it the plot is basically the same . After seeing all three films i still can't understand why terrorist would be interested in a lone beat cop from New York . 3. Dragon Wars - Written and directed by Hyung-rae Shim this is another one of those eastern tales put to cinema for western audiences . It's a tale of love , sacrifice , courage , honour , and oh yes a poorly written script . The story line moved like a haiku ( you know those poems that don't rhyme) . During the film i found more entertainment counting the number of unpoped kernels in my popcorn bag than trying to decipher what was happening in the film . 4. Transformers - I have a special place in my bowels for this franchise . Directed by Michael Bay and based on the cartoon of the 80's this film pits two warring factions of sentient robots whose conflict encompasses Earth . That's it ! Just like the 80's cartoon Hollywood has made a film so dumbed down that only a five year old could follow it . In my opinion Transformers is just a cheap bastardised American version of Robotech .

U.N. asked to help investigate .

Recently the opposition party in Pakistan has asked Scotland Yard to help in the investigation of Benazir Bhuttos death . Taking several suv's to the site of Bhutto's killing investigator's arranged the vehicles in the same spot as Bhuttos , taking pictures from different angles and one from a nearby roof top . Meanwhile as this is taking place Benazir Bhuttos husband has called on the United Nations to bring in their own team to investigate . Are you kidding ? The U.N. is an organization that can barely police itself . With the genocide committed in Rwanda and currently in Darfur , two problems that the U.N. has barely batted an eye at . I seriously doubt the U.N. will move with any great speed to respond to this request . Yet Asif Ali Zardari the head of Bhuttos opposition party insist on U.N. involvement in the case .

Anti-Missile System

Three Boeing 767-200s are about to be equipped with anti-missile laser jammers , perhaps as early as this spring . Once installed these devices will be tested while the passenger planes fly there normal cross country routes . No actual missiles will be fired at the aircraft . The Department of Homeland Security which is pushing for this will be testing and evaluating the jamming systems . To install a unit on each plane would cost around $500,000 to $ 1,000,000 dollars per aircraft , something American Airlines seems less than happy to pay . Should this jamming system work however it would cause shoulder fired missiles ( which are easily attainable on the black market for a few hundred dollars ) to veer harmlessly away from the aircraft . If however private companies like American Airlines refuses to pay for the new units then it would fall on the federal government to foot the bill , in other words you and me .

Oil prices hit a record high

One hundred dollars a barrel for sweet crude and we are already feeling more pressure at the pump. Of course, the Dow suffered as well with gold setting all time high record. Remember we now occupy the third largest oil-producing nation in the world but these prices have nothing to do with oil. It is the Federal Reserve corporation note losing value. Refer to some of my earlier articles and videos for more information.

National identification cards the road to tyranny

To have this idea before the Supreme Court is treason but it is happening within the next month. The national voter registration card is yet another way for the federal government to track and control the American people plain and simple. Before we know it, we will have to produce identification for every occasion from purchasing goods and services to walking down the street. Therefore, when you hear this on the idiot box and the useful lemming says this is for your security and safety think about how much freedom this will cost you. Refer to my article privacy vs. security http://thefirezoneradio.blogspot.com/2007/11/privacy-vs-security.html for further detail on this subject.
