Global Warming Sticker ( another scare tactic )

Within the coming months or perhaps as early as next year, California will become the first state to have a mandatory law requiring all vehicles to display a Global Warming sticker. The sticker will have a number rating of 1 to 10, with the higher number indicating a more environmentally cleaner car. This number will be placed next to an already existing smog number. Considering that Los Angeles has a population in excess of 9 million, and a smog problem that has to be seen to be believed, the need for cleaner running cars is apparent. But, to call this new tag a Global Warming sticker in my opinion sounds more like a scare tactic to get people to buy hybrid cars, than an honest attempt to reduce smog pollution. The term Global Warming tends to conjure up images of global ecological disaster for people who've never taken the time to study all the information regarding this hypothesis. Thanks in part to people like Al Gore, and organizations such as the United Nations, the term Global Warming has become the new 21st century equivalent of the "boogie man," used to scare people and governments to act and think a certain way. Believe me I'm for alternative forms of energy, anything to stick it to O.P.E.C., but let the free-market system decide these things, and not a bunch of con artists trying to bilk you out of your hard earned money with scare tactics.
