The Stimulus

"You've got some economists and some folks who think they're economists. By the way, theses days everybody thinks they're economists."

President Obama casually joked while stressing the need for the U.S. Senate to pass a stimulus package that was around $700 billion, but has now gone beyond $900 billion. With public support for his stimulus plan falling from %46 to now %34, President Obama now feels pressure to pass his stimulus plan as quickly as possible. President Obama cites that the U.S. economy is in the same dire straits as it found it's self during the Great Depression, even though Wall Street analysts say that while the economy is in a slump, it's nowhere near the level experienced during the 1930's.

As the American public becomes more aware of the pork barrel spending that makes up a majority of the bill, the less likely they will be to support such a measure. Obama knows this, which is why he's pushing so hard for this bill, but spending almost a trillion taxpayer dollars over the next several years just to simply grow the government doesn't sound like economic stimulus to me. And the more that the American public learns of this, the less likely they will believe that such a radical step is necessary.

It's true that there are economists, and then there are those who think they are. However, if I remember correctly Obama's major at Harvard was Law, not economics, so I guess it would be safe to say that he's (Obama) not an economists either.

President Obama Criticises Wallstreet Executives

Yesterday President Obama chastised Wall street Executives for handing out an astonishing $18.4 billion in bonuses in 2008 after receiving financial aid from the government over the sub prime mortgage fiasco. Obama called the bonuses "The height of irresponsibility", and asked that more restraint be shown by Wall street executives. Yes, it's true that Wall street executives showed poor judgement, and gave bonuses to their employees rather than buying up all the "Toxic Loans" that the bailout money was intended for. However, there is another group that shares an equal amount of blame for this mismanagement of the bailout. While it is true that a Republican President called for the bailout, it was a Democrat controlled Congress who voted for it, with no oversight, no way to determine how the money was being spent, and no idea where the rest of the money is now. So before Obama starts pointing his finger at the abuse of Wall street executives, he should start cleaning up his own house first.

President Obama lifts Abortion Ban

Last Friday, President Barack Obama lifted the Ban on U.S. funding of overseas abortions. "For the past eight years, (the restrictions) have undermined efforts to promote safe and effective voluntary family planning in developing counties." stated Obama. It never ceases to amuse me how pro-choice groups continually refer to abortions as "family planning". They make it sound like they're planning a vacation for you and your child, not promoting a medical procedure where a doctor cuts up a mother's unborn baby into some weird type of sushi. That President Obama lifted the restrictions is no surprise to me. What does surprise me is the timing of the decision. With America on the brink of financial collapse you would assume that President Obama's primary concern would be getting the economy back on track. Instead Obama has decided to reinstate a program that will cost American taxpayers over $400 million dollars a year. With American workers getting laid off in droves, and wondering where their next pay check will come from, this seems like a very odd move for President Obama to make.

Guantanamo To Be Closed Within A Year

On his second day in office, President Barack Obama signed an executive order to close Guantanamo by the end of 2009. Gitmo has been a continuing source of critsizim by governments, and human rights groups around the world. At the same time, President Obama is suspending all terrorist trails there for not more than 120 days to review the military tribunerials. Although there are some people who see the need for Gitmo's existence, the truth of the matter is that it is a violation of international law, and the Geneva Conventions. According to the Geneva Conventions, a terrorist is not considered a legal soldier, and cannot therefore be held in a military facility, or tried in a military court. The only question that remains is where to put them? A civilian facility?

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Ok, to make a long story short it goes something like this, take the first Mummy movie, and combine that one with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and you have The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Just like those previous films I just mentioned, this one was just as predictable. Hopefully this will be the last of the Mummy films; Brendan Fraser is too talented an actor to be type cast to this kind of genre of films. Although I did enjoy the one scene when Jet Li's character transforms himself into a three headed dragon, it kind of reminded me of King Ghidorah in those campy 1960s Godzilla movies. In summation, this is another summertime popcorn flick not to be taken seriously.

Liquid Discovered on Saturn’s Moon Titan

Since the space probe Cassini reached Saturn in 2004, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory has been studying in depth the ringed planet and its moons. One moon in particular Titan, which scientists theorized had liquid on its surface, but could never verify until Cassini reached Saturn. After over forty close fly-bys of Titan, the spacecraft dropped a probe to land on the surface of the moon, the end results were some rather startling images. First was the discovery that Titan did indeed possess an atmosphere made up primarily of methane gas. The second discovery was that Titan has lakes of liquid ethane, which makes Titan the only other planet besides Earth with liquid on its surface. For those who don't know, liquid ethane is a component of crude oil, which means, Shell, Exxon/Mobil, or BP better take advantage of this before Al Gore decides to blockade the planet.

Bush Signs Mortgage Bailout Bill.

Yesterday, just after entering the white house, President Bush signed into law a mortgage bailout bill, but with none of the fanfare that usually attends these events. This bill is supposed to help some estimated 400,000 people who face foreclosures on their homes, as well as institutions such as Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae who gave out the loans. Those in attendance at the bill signing were Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Steve Preston, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director James B. Lockhart, also Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Federal Housing Administration Director Brian Montgomery, White House Domestic Policy Council Director Karl Zinsmiester, and finally National Economic Council Director Keith Hennessey. Even though President Bush initially swore to veto the bill, citing that it was too socialistic, pressure from a Democratic congress had forced him to take an all or nothing approach to the problem. This to me has set a dangerous precedent, it tells the American people that whenever they make a bad financial decision, whether it is a loan on a house they can't afford, to maxing out their credit cards, that it'll be the government (i.e. the U.S. taxpayer) and not the individual who bails them out. This bill is just one more entitlement in a land of entitlements. Worse still, it absolves any responsibility to not only the consumer, but the financial institutions who gave the bad loans, and in the end the only one who loses is the taxpayer. It's the taxpayer in the end that must make good on these bad financial decisions by the consumer and lender, while still trying to make enough to support their own families.

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army

This is another one of those films I would label a popcorn flick, lots of action, comedy, and special effects. Just not an engaging plot line, kind of like Batman: The Dark Knight, you really had to try hard to get enveloped in the story. However unlike Batman: The Dark Knight, at least this film describes the background of the nemesis are hero has to defeat. I think Ron Pearlman was made for this role, and Selma Blair well what can I say, she's a babe! Ssshhaawing! I'm not real sure about the interspecies love interests in the film, so I'll just put that down as science fiction.

The War on Terror

During his Middle East/European tour, democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama stated that Afghanistan, and not Iraq was the central front for the war on terror. Sen. John McCain has said as much, but has either one taken the time to consider what that means? In 1980 the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, and for the next ten years fought a war to try and bring that nation into compliance. During that conflict the Taliban would continually cross the northern border into Pakistan to rearm, and regroup. Equipped with American made weapons, primarily the Stinger anti-aircraft missile, the Taliban would again cross the border into southern Afghanistan and engage in guerrilla attacks on Soviet units. Eventually the attrition rate became such that, like American forces in Vietnam, the Soviet Union was forced to withdraw its troops. So why didn't Soviet military units pursue the Taliban into the tribal regions of northern Pakistan? Quite possibly for fear of escalating the war. At that time the Soviet Unions' prestige was at an all time low because of the invasion. At the United Nations General Assembly world leaders denounced the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Fear of drawing other nations in and widening the conflict is what kept the Soviet Union from invading across the northern border of Pakistan. Now almost thirty years later we have another conflict in Afghanistan, and just as with the Soviets, after American forces routed out the Taliban in Kandahar, and Kabul, the Taliban simply crossed into northern Pakistan to regroup. Armed now with Iranian weapons funneled through Pakistan, the Taliban continue to cross into southern Afghanistan to conduct hit-and-run attacks on N.A.T.O. troops now. If senators McCain and Obama view Afghanistan as the central front for the war on terror, then the question must be asked; Will either one in their role as commander-in-chief order U.S. troops into the northern tribal areas of Pakistan to engage and destroy the Taliban, or will they be content to try and keep the Taliban out of Afghanistan, while the casualty count continues to climb? Anti-war protesters called the war in Iraq illegal, or refer to it as a quagmire. The legality of the war in Iraq I'll touch on later, but to call it a quagmire in light of how combat operations in Afghanistan are conducted is a gross distortion of the facts. Although the Iraqi government is far from laudable, at least it's making progress towards stabilizing their country. Iran supplies weapons to Iraqi insurgents, but the surge has worked to quell the violence. In Afghanistan the government is still having difficulty unifying the different tribal groups in their country. The Afghan government has done very little to stop the growing and harvest of opium, something the Taliban never allowed under their rule. With Pakistan's statement by their foreign minister last month that no U.S. forces are operating in northern Pakistan, and that none would be allowed even though that particular region of Pakistan is where the Taliban go to find sanctuary, to that is the very definition of a quagmire. Again, I don't believe either presidential candidate has thought this through.

The UFO Cover Up

Ok, here's one for all the X-Files geeks. In a recent radio interview, Dr. Edger Mitchell proclaimed that governments around the world have been covering up evidence of extraterrestrial visitations. For those of you who may not know, Dr. Mitchell was an astronaut, and one of the last men to walk on the moon during Apollo-14 in 1971. Dr. Mitchell had said that the space agency personnel who had contact with the aliens described them as "little people who look strange to us." The radio host Nick Margerrison was caught off guard by the sudden turn during the interview, "I thought I'd stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour, but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there's no debating it." During the radio show Dr. Mitchell stated about the UFO cover up "It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it." Dr. Mitchell also remarked that the aliens' physiology was similar to what most people would associate an extraterrestrial to look like, small frame, large head, and large eyes. I don't know if UFO's really exist. All the material I've read or video's I've seen on the subject are vague at best. Maybe if one landed on the White House lawn, or abducted Al Gore, and John McCain, I might be prepared to take the subject more seriously. As for Dr. Mitchell's claims, I can't really argue the point. Dr. Mitchell has earned a Bachelor of Science degree pertaining to aeronautical engineering, and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics, and Astronautics. In other words, this man is no quake, but a highly educated individual whose had access to intelligence circles that ufoologists could only dream of having access to.

Journey To The Center of The Earth 3-D

Its been so long since I've been to a 3-D movie I……never mind. As much as I chide Hollywood for resorting to remakes for lack of any fresh ideas, I have to admit this is one of those few exceptions. The plot was simple and straight forward, and there was just the right amount of humor, action, and romance to make it entertaining.

New Gas Tax

Before the start of summer Republican presidential nominee John McCain and Democratic runner up Hillary Clinton tried to persuade congress to have a Memorial Day to Labor Day tax freeze, to help ease the burden on consumers at the gas pump. Lawmakers in Washington however were quick to point out that if such a tax freeze on fuel took place, it would mean $9 billion less that states would receive in federal money for highway maintainance and construction. Barack Obama has opposed this plan from the beginng, other Politian's of note who disagree with the tax freeze are Rep. James Oberstar, chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and Rep. Peter DeFazio, chairman of the highway subcommittee. Representatives' Oberstar, and Defazio described to lawmakers that a tax freeze on gas for just three months would cost states from Vermont $30 million, and 1,000 jobs lost to California at $664 million, and 23,000 lost jobs. Sen. Hillary Clinton purposed a windfall tax on oil companies to make up the loss in tax revenue; Republicans however shot that one down. John McCain put forth the idea of getting the money from the general treasury, but just as with Sen. Clinton's idea, that has also died a quick death. If congress had just said no, that would have been one thing, but now they're talking about adding on an additional 10 cents tax on gas! Pressure for this new gas tax appears to have manifested from The Transportation Construction Coalition, a group of unions and industries. The Transportation Construction Coalition claims that the trust fund used to finance highway maintenance is in danger of running into a deficit, and could cost more than 485,000 jobs. Just three years ago the trust fund boosted a $10 billion surplus, and now economist estimate that the fund will finish 2009 at a $3 billion deficit. It seems a little strange to me that all this has suddenly come out, with the proposition of a gas tax freeze. I can't help but wonder if the trust fund that's used to pay for these road projects was in danger of going broke, why are we just now hearing about it? It's just a little too convient. If anything this is a perfect example of why it's not wise to ask your government for help. A simple request for relief at the gas pump has turned into a possible new tax hike.

Batman: The Dark Knight

The good news; Heath Ledgers' performance as Joker was everything I'd hope it would be. Granted his portrayal of Joker was different than Jack Nicholson's', but that was what made it so great, he made the character his own. A psychopathic murderer. The bad news; Heath Ledgers' untimely death notwithstanding, this Batman movie was as predictable as all the others so far. Without Heath Ledgers' participation, this Batman movie would have bombed like the last one. Since the first film in 1988, Hollywood has made almost a dozen of these films and it's becoming a tired theme, like Star Trek you can only do so much. Again, if it wasn't for Mr. Ledgers' performance then this would be one of those films that I'd rather wait for a DVD release.

Nancy Pelosi and the High Price of Oil

"The president of the United States, with gas at $4 a gallon because of his failed energy policies, is now trying to say that is because I couldn't drill off shore," Pelosi commented during an Interview. "That is not the cause, and I am not going to let him get away with it." Just how did Nancy Pelosi acquire this inflexible attitude about offshore drilling? The Santa Barbara oil spill of 1969, an event that solidified Californians objections to offshore drilling. "We learned the hard way that oil and water do not mix on our coast," Pelosi spoke to a committee establishing her case for maintaining the ban on offshore drilling in 1996. And there in lays the problem, Nancy Pelosi in her capacity as Speaker of the House no longer represents her district in California, but all Americans. Unfortunately just like the Democratic Congress, Mrs. Pelosi has become deaf to the will of the American people she took an oath to serve, and instead is pushing her own environmental agenda. Also unfortunately in her role as Speaker of the House any recession on the ban on offshore drilling must pass through her before it can be enacted. So as you fill up at the pump and pay anywhere from $4 to $5 dollars a gallon, just remember it's Nancy Pelosi and her hard-line views that have helped to make this energy crisis possible.

When someone runs for the highest office in the land, there is a certain amount of personal information that must be divulged. However, when the Negro Obama refuses to show a birth certificate and expects me to trust him for his word. This simply will not do. Is he even a citizen of this country? What is he trying to hide? He will have to do better than a badly photo shopped copy of a phony document to slither his way out of this. So I ask again, who is Barrack Obama? Show us really, who you are. On the other hand, maybe he is showing his true self. Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mamood Qureshi during an interview said that no U.S. forces are currently operating in the northern area of Pakistan, and according to the wishes of the new Pakistani government, none would be allowed. "Our government's policy is that our troops, paramilitary forces and our regular forces are deployed in sufficient numbers. They are capable of taking action there. And any foreign intrusion would be counterproductive." Qureshi continued by saying, "People will not accept it. Questions of sovereignty come in." In spite of what the foreign minister said, villagers who live in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan have reported seeing U.S. predator drones firing missiles at suspected Al-Qaida, and Taliban groups. So unless I'm mistaken, the foreign minister believes that this is an internal affair? And that he believes Pakistan's forces are arrayed in enough strength to handle any militants? But the people will not tolerate outside forces from entering their territory, and yet not only do these villagers not mind foreign fighters such as Al-Qaida, and the Taliban to dwell in those areas, but according to the latest intelligence report are sympathetic to their cause. Not only are the villagers in that border area, but at last report almost half of Pakistan's military, and a good portion of their intelligence service. Since the resumption of the Gulf War in 2003, many anti-war protesters, mainly Democrats such as Kennedy have called that theater of operations a quiage mire reminiscent of the Vietnam conflict. However I put it to you this way; When comparing the two conflicts (Afghanistan & Iraq) we see a striking difference in results. Since the surge insurgent violence though not completely eliminated has diminished greatly. Meanwhile in Afghanistan forces under N.A.T.O. command have met with lackluster results, at best it's a stalemate. Ultimately, the next President of the United States will have to decide how best to deal with Al- Qaida in Pakistan, continue with the current status quo with no end in sight, or invade northern Pakistan and risk escalating the conflict?

The State of Israel; the nexus of three major faiths, and a homeland for the Jewish people. It is also the source for most of the violence in the world today. Terrorism has always existed in this world in some form or fashion. It's less a method of warfare as it is a political tool. From the time of the Roman Empire to European Colonialism, Muslims have used this method to achieve politically what they could never hope to gain militarily. When the United Nations created the State of Israel out of the land that was once known as Palestine, Arabs were again forced to use this method to regain what they felt was rightfully theirs. Because of this Jews have been forced to react in such a way that Israel now more resembles an apartied state than a beckon of democracy in the Middle East. This sad state of affairs has continued now for over 60 years, and in that time Muslim nations have become powerful economically with their near monopoly of the world's oil supply, and militarily with their access to more advance technology. Keeping these factors in mind, you now have Muslims countries looking to redress a wrong they feel has been done to them, and are now starting to flex their muscles as it were to the west. I've said it before and I'll continue to say it; the creation of the State of Israel was the worst mistake ever made by the United Nations, and if the situation in the Middle East doesn't improve soon, it could be a mistake that the entire world may have to pay for.

A Prelude to War

Recently Iran has been conducting missile tests, in what many believe to be a warning to Israel and the United States not to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. In Tbilisi, Georgia Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice who is currently on a tour of east European countries trying to smooth over protests of a U.S. missile defense shield had this to say about Iran's missile tests, "We are sending a message to Iran that we will defend American interests and the interests of our allies." Secretary Rice continued saying "We take very very strongly our obligations to help our allies defend themselves and no one should be confused about that." Meanwhile reports from Iraq's military high command that Israeli attack jets have been sighted at a U.S. airbase in the Anbar Province of Iraq. If this is true, that would put Israel's strike aircraft within 5 minutes flight time of their targets. While in Russia, the government under President Dmitry Medvedev has taken a dim view that the former Soviet satellite state of Georgia and others that were once behind the "iron curtain" are now seeking admission to N.A.T.O., and at the same time are in talks with the United States about the installation of an anti-ballistic missile system. In response Russia has warned that "unspecified military action" might be used if those installations were built. With the price of crude oil surpassing $145 a barrel with no signs of stopping, and economies around the world slowly sliding into recession, it's the perfect recipe for world war.

1. The word "freedom," which can be interpreted in various ways, is defined by us as follows -
2. Freedom is the right to do what which the law allows. This interpretation of the word will at the proper time be of service to us, because all freedom will thus be in our hands, since the laws will abolish or create only that which is desirable for us according to the aforesaid program.

The produce of publicity, which nowadays is a source of heavy expense owing to the necessity of censoring it, will be turned by us into a very lucrative source of income to our State: we shall lay on it a special stamp tax and require deposits of caution-money before permitting the establishment of any organ of the press or of printing offices; these will then have to guarantee our government against any kind of attack on the part of the press. For any attempt to attack us, if such still be possible, we shall inflict fines without mercy. Such measures as stamp tax, deposit of caution-money and fines secured by these deposits, will bring in a huge income to the government. It is true that party organs might not spare money for the sake of publicity, but these we shall shut up at the second attack upon us. No one shall with impunity lay a finger on the aureole of our government infallibility. The pretext for stopping any publication will be the alleged plea that it is agitating the public mind without occasion or justification. I BEG YOU TO NOTE THAT AMONG THOSE MAKING ATTACKS UPON US WILL ALSO BE ORGANS ESTABLISHED BY US, BUT THEY WILL ATTACK EXCLUSIVELY POINTS THAT WE HAVE PRE-DETERMINED TO ALTER.
WE CONTROL THE PRESS
4. NOT A SINGLE ANNOUNCEMENT WILL REACH THE PUBLIC WITHOUT OUR CONTROL. Every one of them in hunting after phantoms of freedom, and falling exclusively into license, that is, into the anarchy of protest for the sake of protest....

7. We turn to the periodical press. We shall impose on it, as on all printed matter, stamp taxes per sheet and deposits of caution-money, and books of less than 30 sheets will pay double. We shall reckon them as pamphlets in order, on the one hand, to reduce the number of magazines, which are the worst form of printed poison, and, on the other, in order that this measure may force writers into such lengthy productions that they will be little read, especially as they will be costly. At the same time what we shall publish ourselves to influence mental development in the direction laid down for our profit will be cheap and will be read voraciously. The tax will bring vapid literary ambitions within bounds and the liability to penalties will make literary men dependent upon us. And if there should be any found who are desirous of writing against us, they will not find any person eager to print their productions. Before accepting any production for publication in print, the publisher or printer will have to apply to the authorities for permission to do so. Thus we shall know beforehand of all tricks preparing against us and shall nullify them by getting ahead with explanations on the subject treated of.
8. Literature and journalism are two of the most important educative forces, and therefore our government will become proprietor of the majority of the journals. This will neutralize the injurious influence of the privately-owned press and will put us in possession of a tremendous influence upon the public mind .... If we give permits for ten journals, we shall ourselves found thirty, and so on in the same proportion. This, however, must in no wise be suspected by the public. For which reason all journals published by us will be of the most opposite, in appearance, tendencies and opinions, thereby creating confidence in us and bringing over to us quite unsuspicious opponents, who will thus fall into our trap and be rendered harmless.
9. In the front rank will stand organs of an official character. They will always stand guard over our interests, and therefore their influence will be comparatively insignificant.
10. In the second rank will be the semi-official organs, whose part it will be to attack the tepid and indifferent.
11. In the third rank we shall set up our own, to all appearance, opposition, which, in at least one of its organs, will present what looks like the very antipodes to us. Our real opponents at heart will accept this simulated opposition as their own and will show us their cards.
12. All our newspapers will be of all possible complexions -- aristocratic, republican, revolutionary, even anarchical - for so long, of course, as the constitution exists .... Like the Indian idol "Vishnu" they will have a hundred hands, and every one of them will have a finger on any one of the public opinions as required. When a pulse quickens these hands will lead opinion in the direction of our aims, for an excited patient loses all power of judgment and easily yields to suggestion. Those fools who will think they are repeating the opinion of a newspaper of their own camp will be repeating our opinion or any opinion that seems desirable for us. In the vain belief that they are following the organ of their party they will, in fact, follow the flag which we hang out for them.
13. In order to direct our newspaper militia in this sense we must take special and minute care in organizing this matter. Under the title of central department of the press we shall institute literary gatherings at which our agents will without attracting attention issue the orders and watchwords of the day. By discussing and controverting, but always superficially, without touching the essence of the matter, our organs will carry on a sham fight fusillade with the official newspapers solely for the purpose of giving occasion for us to express ourselves more fully than could well be done from the outset in official announcements, whenever, of course, that is to our advantage.
14. THESE ATTACKS UPON US WILL ALSO SERVE ANOTHER PURPOSE, NAMELY, THAT OUR SUBJECTS WILL BE CONVINCED TO THE EXISTENCE OF FULL FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND SO GIVE OUR AGENTS AN OCCASION TO AFFIRM THAT ALL ORGANS WHICH OPPOSE US ARE EMPTY BABBLERS, since they are incapable of finding any substantial objections to our orders.

Methods of organization like these, imperceptible to the public eye but absolutely sure, are the best calculated to succeed in bringing the attention and the confidence of the public to the side of our government. Thanks to such methods we shall be in a position as from time to time may be required, to excite or to tranquillize the public mind on political questions, to persuade or to confuse, printing now truth, now lies, facts or their contradictions, according as they may be well or ill received, always very cautiously feeling our ground before stepping upon it .... Even nowadays, already, to take only the French press, there are forms which reveal masonic solidarity in acting on the watchword: all organs of the press are bound together by professional secrecy; like the augurs of old, not one of their numbers will give away the secret of his sources of information unless it be resolved to make announcement of them. Not one journalist will venture to betray this secret, for not one of them is ever admitted to practice literature unless his whole past has some disgraceful sore or other .... These sores would be immediately revealed. So long as they remain the secret of a few the prestige of the journalist attacks the majority of the country - the mob follow after him with enthusiasm.

Global Warming Sticker ( another scare tactic )

Within the coming months or perhaps as early as next year, California will become the first state to have a mandatory law requiring all vehicles to display a Global Warming sticker. The sticker will have a number rating of 1 to 10, with the higher number indicating a more environmentally cleaner car. This number will be placed next to an already existing smog number. Considering that Los Angeles has a population in excess of 9 million, and a smog problem that has to be seen to be believed, the need for cleaner running cars is apparent. But, to call this new tag a Global Warming sticker in my opinion sounds more like a scare tactic to get people to buy hybrid cars, than an honest attempt to reduce smog pollution. The term Global Warming tends to conjure up images of global ecological disaster for people who've never taken the time to study all the information regarding this hypothesis. Thanks in part to people like Al Gore, and organizations such as the United Nations, the term Global Warming has become the new 21^st century equivalent of the "boogie man," used to scare people and governments to act and think a certain way. Believe me I'm for alternative forms of energy, anything to stick it to O.P.E.C., but let the free-market system decide these things, and not a bunch of con artists trying to bilk you out of your hard earned money with scare tactics.

PROTOCOL No. 11
1. The State Council has been, as it were, the emphatic expression of the authority of the ruler: it will be, as the "show" part of the Legislative Corps, what may be called the editorial committee of the laws and decrees of the ruler.
2. This, then, is the program of the new constitution. We shall make Law, Right and Justice (1) in the guise of proposals to the Legislative Corps, (2) by decrees of the president under the guise of general regulations, of orders of the Senate and of resolutions of the State Council in the guise of ministerial orders, (3) and in case a suitable occasion should arise - in the form of a revolution in the State.
3. Having established approximately the MODUS AGENDI we will occupy ourselves with details of those combinations by which we have still to complete the revolution in the course of the machinery of State in the direction already indicated. By these combinations I mean the freedom of the Press, the right of association, freedom of conscience, the voting principle, and many another that must disappear for ever from the memory of man, or undergo a radical alteration the day after the promulgation of the new constitution. It is only at the moment that we shall be able at once to announce all our orders, for, afterwards, every noticeable alteration will be dangerous, for the following reasons: if this alteration be brought in with harsh severity and in a sense of severity and limitations, it may lead to a feeling of despair caused by fear of new alterations in the same direction; if, on the other hand, it be brought in a sense of further indulgences it will be said that we have recognized our own wrong-doing and this will destroy the prestige of the infallibility of our authority, or else it will be said that we have become alarmed and are compelled to show a yielding disposition, for which we shall get no thanks because it will be supposed to be compulsory ... Both the one and the other are injurious to the prestige of the new constitution. What we want is that from the first moment of its promulgation, while the peoples of the world are still stunned by the accomplished fact of the revolution, still in a condition of terror and uncertainty, they should recognize once for all that we are so strong, so inexpugnable, so super-abundantly filled with power, that in no case shall we take any account of them, and so far from paying any attention to their opinions or wishes, we are ready and able to crush with irresistible power all expression or manifestation thereof at every moment and in every place, that we have seized at once everything we wanted and shall in no case divide our power with them ... Then in fear and trembling they will close their eyes to everything, and be content to await what will be the end of it all.

I was rather disappointed with this one. This movie used a lot of Matrix style action to cover up an uninventive storyline. It was interesting to note that this was the first movie I've seen Angelia Jolie star in where she didn't try to cover up all her tattoos'. In a nutshell, if you're looking for a film with a lot of action and not much substance then this is your movie.

In this way, by inculcating in all a sense of self-importance, we shall destroy among the GOYIM the importance of the family and its educational value and remove the possibility of individual minds splitting off, for the mob, handled by us, will not let them come to the front nor even give them a hearing; it is accustomed to listen to us only who pay it for obedience and attention. In this way we shall create a blind, mighty force which will never be in a position to move in any direction without the guidance of our agents set at its head by us as leaders of the mob. 6. A scheme of government should come ready made from one brain, because it will never be clinched firmly if it is allowed to be split into fractional parts in the minds of many. To discuss and make alterations in a labor of this kind by means of numerous votings is to impress upon it the stamp of all ratiocinations and misunderstandings which have failed to penetrate the depth and nexus of its plottings. We want our schemes to be forcible and suitably concocted. Therefore WE OUGHT NOT TO FLING THE WORK OF GENIUS OF OUR GUIDE to the fangs of the mob or even of a select company.
7. These schemes will not turn existing institutions upside down just yet. They will only effect changes in their economy and consequently in the whole combined movement of their progress, which will thus be directed along the paths laid down in our schemes.

8. Under various names there exists in all countries approximately one and the same thing. Representation, Ministry, Senate, State Council, Legislative and Executive Corps. If we injure one part in the machinery of State, the State falls sick, like a human body, and ... will die.
9. When we introduced into the State organism the poison of Liberalism its whole political complexion underwent a change. States have been seized with a mortal illness - blood poisoning. All that remains is to await the end of their death agony.

Liberalism produced Constitutional States, which took the place of what was the only safeguard of the GOYIM, namely, Despotism; and A CONSTITUTION, AS YOU WELL KNOW, IS NOTHING ELSE BUT A SCHOOL OF DISCORDS, misunderstandings, quarrels, disagreements, fruitless party agitations, party whims - in a word, a school of everything that serves to destroy the personality of State activity. Naturally, the authority of the presidents will then become a target for every possible form of attack, but we shall provide him with a means of self-defense in the right of an appeal to the people, for the decision of the people over the heads of their representatives, that is to say, an appeal to that same blind slave of ours - the majority of the mob. Independently of this we shall invest the president with the right of declaring a state of war. We shall justify this last right on the ground that the president as chief of the whole army of the country must have it at his disposal, in case of need for the defense of the new republican constitution, the right to defend which will belong to him as the responsible representative of this constitution. (Iran? Grenada? Kuwait? Iraq? Panama? Somalia? Bosnia? Kosovo? Indonesia?)
14. It is easy to understand that in these conditions the key of the shrine will lie in our hands, and no one outside ourselves will any longer direct the force of legislation.

Besides this we shall, with the introduction of the new republican constitution, take from the Chamber the right of interpolation on government measures, on the pretext of preserving political secrecy, and, further, we shall by the new constitution reduce the number of representatives to a minimum, thereby proportionately reducing political passions and the passion for politics. If, however, they should, which is hardly to be expected, burst into flame, even in this minimum, we shall nullify them by a stirring appeal and a reference to the majority of the whole people ... Upon the president will depend the appointment of presidents and vice-presidents of the Chamber and the Senate. Instead of constant sessions of Parliaments we shall reduce their sittings to a few months. Moreover, the president, as chief of the executive power, will have the right to summon and dissolve Parliament, and, in the latter case, to prolong the time for the appointment of a new parliamentary assembly. With the price of crude oil surpassing $143 a barrel, and prices at the pump effecting all phases of life in America and abroad, some people have taken unusual steps to alleviate the financial strain. One group of people, led by Rocky Twyman a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, has been holding prayer vigils at gas stations across America. Mr. Twyman has even taken his group to Washington D.C. to the front steps of the embassy of Saudi Arabia, in the hopes that this demonstration will convince that oil rich country to produce 1.2 million barrels of oil a day. "Our people are really suffering through this crisis. We need the Saudis to release at least 1.2 [million] barrels of oil per day for about the next six months until we can get everything settled in America…If they can just do that for us, than this will help us get through this crisis," Mr. Twyman commented to reporters. "I think we have just entered a new phase. We were in the prayerful phase, but now we're going into a more activist phase, because we feel that whole faith without works is dead," Mr. Twyman continued telling reporters. This might be presumptuous of me, but if God wanted us to have cheaper oil, then he would have made it more plentiful. When Christ went from town to town spreading the "word" with his disciples, he wasn't doing it with 93% octane, the man didn't even own a horse. If groups like Mr. Twymans want to make a change in gas prices, I suggest they start with the United States Congress, for they are the ones who have passed legislation that all but denies American oil companies from drilling in the interior and costal shelf of the United States.

"It's a matter of gauging your opponents, and it's a matter of being held accountable. John McCain's never done any of that in his official positions. I certainly honor his service as a prisoner of war. He was a hero to me, and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in the armed forces, as a prisoner of war." Continued Mr. Clark. "He has been a voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee and he has traveled all over the world, but he hasn't held executive responsibility," Clark continued during the T.V. segment, "That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded – that wasn't a wartime squadron." Bob Schieffer who moderated the show pointed out that Senator Obama lacked those experiences either, nor had he flown a jet fighter, let alone to fly one in combat. Mr. Clark's response to this was "Well, I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president." I could be mistaken, but I believe that last comment was the only one that Gen. Clark was not in error. It's true, being shot down in combat is not a qualification for President of the United States, but to suggest that Sen. McCain has no executive experience is simply not true. The very fact that he is a senator, and has remained one for many years is proof that McCain has executive experience. Experience Gen. Clark lacks when one takes into account that he's never held public office before. Also to say that the squadron McCain severed with was not a war time squadron is absolutely preposterous. Apparently between 1964 – 75' General Wesley Clark was not on this planet, and so was unaware of this conflict called the "Vietnam War", of which John McCain's squadron " The Saints" were a part of.

Hatch; "I guess what I'm saying though, is that if we started to develop the oil shale in those three states we could do it within this framework of over $100 a barrel and make a profit." Hofmeister; "I believe we could." Hatch; "And we could help our country alleviate its oil pressures?" Hofmeister; "Yes." Hatch; "But they're stopping us from doing that right here, as we sit here. We just had hearing last week where Democrats had stopped the ability to do that, in at least Colorado." Aye, and the genius on their side would have arrived too late. All the wheels of the machinery of all States go by the force of the engine, which is in our hands, and that engine of the machinery of States is - Gold. The science of political economy invented by our learned elders has for long past been giving royal prestige to capital.
MONOPOLY CAPITAL
7. Capital, if it is to co-operate untrammeled, must be free to establish a monopoly of industry and trade: this is already being put in execution by an unseen hand in all quarters of the world. This freedom will give political force to those engaged in industry, and that will help to oppress the people. Nowadays it is more important to disarm the peoples than to lead them into war: more important to use for our advantage the passions which have burst into flames than to quench their fire: more important to eradicate them. Congress and the High Price of Gas. Part 1

On May 21, 2008 the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee called the top executives from the petroleum industry for an inquisition to get the oil companies to confess price gouging. The executives called were Robert Malone, Chairman and President of BP America Inc.; John Hofmeister, President, Shell Oil Company; Peter Robinson, Vice Chairman of the Board, Chevron Corporation; John Lowe, Executive Vice President, Conoco Philips Company; and Stephen Simon, Senior Vice President, Exxon Mobil Corporation. The entire proceeding was done in the hopes of publicly shaming the oil companies, and improving the image of a rather unpopular Democratic congress, whose approval rating is more dismal than The U.S. Presidents'. The Judiciary Committee however was not prepared for the facts and figures given to them by the summoned executives. At one point during the proceedings, John Lowe described the small part that American oil companies play in the global petroleum market. John Lowe; "I cannot overemphasize the access issue. Access to resources is severely restricted in the United States and abroad, and the American oil industry must compete with national oil companies who are often much larger and have the support of their governments. We can only compete directly for 7 percent of the world's available reserves while about 75 percent is completely controlled by national oil companies and is not accessible." Stephen Simon also expounded on the minute role American oil companies play on the world market. Stephen Simon; "Exxon Mobil is the largest U.S. oil and gas company, but we account for only 2 percent of global energy production, only 3 percent of global oil production, only 6 percent of global refining capacity, and only one percent of global petroleum reserves. With respect to petroleum reserves, we rank 14^th. Government-owned national oil companies dominate the top spots. For an American company to succeed in this competitive landscape and go head to head with huge government-backed national oil companies, it needs financial strength and scale to execute massive complex energy projects requiring enormous long-term investments. To simply maintain our current operations and make needed capital investments, Exxon Mobil spends nearly $1 billion each day. When the inevitable questioning began about price gouging at the pump, the senate committee members were a little less than enthused when the oil executives cited that on average 15% of the cost consumers pay at the pump goes to taxes, while only 4% goes to the oil companies as profit. These figures were repeated many times during the course of the hearing. Oddly not one Democratic senator offered to lower the taxes on gas to help consumers. Another point that was repeatedly brought up was Congress's responsibility for restricting oil exploration within the United States. John Hofmeister;
"While all oil-importing nations buy oil at global prices, some, notably India and China, subsidize the cost of oil products to their nation's consumers, feeding the demand for more oil despite record prices. They do this to speed economic growth and to ensure a competitive advantage relative to other nations. Meanwhile, in the United States, access to our own oil and gas resources has been limited for the last 30 years, prohibiting companies such as Shell from exploring and developing resources for the benefit of the American people."
Senator Sessions; "I agree, it is not a free market." Currently in the United States 62% of all on-shore federal lands are restricted from oil and gas development, with another 92% of those restrictions applying to all federal lands. There also exist an outer shelf moratorium on the Atlantic Ocean, an outer continental shelf moratorium for the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, a congressional ban for specific areas of the Rock Mountains, and Alaska for on-shore oil and gas development, there even exists a congressional ban on an analysis of the resource potential for the Pacific, Atlantic, and Eastern Gulf of Mexico, according to the Department of the Interior. In 2004 a report done by the Argonne National Laboratory identified some 40 specific federal policies meant to limit, delay, halt or restrict natural gas projects. At the time these policies were set in motion oil was selling in the single digits, and not the triple digits that oil is currently selling at. These policies were intended to force U.S. companies to look over seas for new deposits; as a result U.S. oil production has fallen to the point that nearly 60% of daily consumption comes from foreign countries. In essence Congress holds the power to reverse some, if not all these policies, and allow oil companies to explore for new oil deposits and lower prices at the pump.

"Science has always progressed on the basis of observations, experiments, and thoughts published by individual scientist and sometimes pairs or small groups of scientific co-workers," remarked Professor Robinson on his thoughts about the scientific process. "A few of these published articles are especially valuable; a greater number, while not remarkable, provide relative mundane studies that add to the infrastructure of science; many are not useful at all; and some are completely wrong. As individual scientist read these articles, they use their own wisdom, knowledge, and judgment to separate new information that they find valuable from information that they find of no use," continues Prof. Robinson, "Always, scientific progress is a result of a large number of individual decisions that trend in a specific direction." Please note, nowhere in the previous statement did you hear panic, hysteria, or any prophecies of ecological doom. To me, this is how science should work, approaching the problem with calm, rationale thought, and observation, not borderline pandemonium. Unfortunately the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a department of the United Nations doesn't follow this process. This branch of the U.N. which is composed of about 600 scientists also has citied that many of its goals are; to eliminate HIV/AIDS, achieve universal primary education, reduce child deaths, eradicate hunger and poverty, and promote equal rights among genders. Of the 600 scientist a select few meet in committee, going over data pertaining to weather patterns, and future weather predictions, taking what's useful and discarding what doesn't fit their agenda, then presenting it to the rest of the IPCC as "settled science". "In the present case in which United Nations apparatchicks have proclaimed that human activity is catastrophically warming the planet, the human cost of error is so great than many other scientists have become motivated to individually examine the evidence. Now, a total of more than 9,000 Americans with Ph.Ds in science and therefore professional educational credentials that, on average, equal or surpass the United Nations 600-and a total of more than 31,000 Americans with at least B.S. degrees in science have signed a petition to the U.S. government specifically rejecting the United Nations claim that human use of hydrocarbon energy is injuring the climate," stated Prof. Robinson. And of Al Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth", Prof. Robinson comments that "Unfortunately, Mr. Gore's movie contains many very serious incorrect claims which no informed, honest scientist could endorse." Even the late Professor Frederick Seitz the last president of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, and who also won the National Medal of Science had this to so about Global Warming "Research data on climate change do not show that human use of hydrocarbons is harmful. To the contrary, there is good evidence that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide is environmentally helpful." So until these climate change scientist can prove to the rest of the world, with hard irrefutable evidence linking human activity to Global Warming, I will continue to view this as I always have, a very clever scam by the U.N. to appropriate more money, and exert more control over world governments. I'm sure there are some bleeding-heart types who will read this and ask, "What's wrong with giving more money to the IPCC? The U.N. is trying to help third world nations to catch up with the rest of the developed world. What's wrong with having a heart?" Let me just say that there is nothing wrong with helping people who don't have a little more, and there's nothing wrong with having a heart. However, it's those people who have a heart and give, and give, with no accountability expected from those countries whose people they are trying to help that I have a problem with. To me that kind of attitude represents naive thinking at its worst. These are the same people who's Hands Across America and songs like We Are the World raised millions upon millions of dollars….and accomplished absolutely nothing. Except perhaps to make those people who have a heart feel a little better about themselves. As for the food those millions of dollars purchased? Very little actually went to those who needed it most, but instead went the militias and military units of those feminine stricken countries. What little food did reach those poor people was just barely enough to keep them alive for a short while. All that effort and all that was accomplished was a meager stay of execution. My point is that, so long as you have third world countries governed by despot rulers, military juntas, or influenced by drug cartels, then all the money in the world will not make a difference. And yet the United Nations is pushing for a Global Warming tax to help fund the IPCC's efforts to modernize underdeveloped nations. Apparently the money the U.N. gets through its membership dues is not enough to fund the IPCC's endeavors. So instead of asking its' members for more money, they create an artificial crisis, with Al Gore as an able bodied spokesperson.

4. Babblers, inexhaustible, have turned into oratorical contests the sittings of Parliament and Administrative Boards. Global Warming or Wealth Redistribution? – Part One

As you can tell from my earlier posts I'm not what you'd call a true believer on the subject of Global Warming. It's not that I don't believe we can be doing things better or cleaner, we can and we have. Nor do I consider myself close-minded on the subject. I'm just having a difficult time subscribing to a hypothesis that smacks of a scare tactic. I would be willing to except that Human activity is a direct result of Global Warming if these climate scientist could provide hard data, but yet all I've ever heard are some rather weak theories, or how certain they are in percentages. Despite what the media has told us, Global Warming caused by Human activity IS NOT a universally accepted fact. Right now a petition is being signed by scientists around the world in protest to what they believe to be political interference in science to push a political agenda. This petition, which was started by Professor Art Robinson, a chemistry researcher and co-founder of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine reads as follows; "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth." As of this writing over 31,000 scientists have signed this petition, with more signing everyday.

McCain explained how he would like to see 45 new nuclear reactors built by 2030 in an effort to become more energy independent. Sen. McCain cited that the 104 nuclear reactors currently operating in America only produce 20% of that nation's electrical need, and that if elected would spend 2 billion dollars a year in federal funds "to make clean coal a reality." McCain also talked about offshore drilling to obtain more oil. I'm all for building more reactors, but that's not an immediate solution. If Americans are angered at seeing 4$ at the pump, can you imagine what prices will be like by 2030. Also I can't help but feel a little skepticism when Politian's talk about severing Americas dependence on foreign oil. American Politian's have been talking about doing this since the Arab oil embargo of the early 1970's. So before you go to the voting booth this November and vote lock-step with the same political party your parents and grandparents did, please bear in mind that Politian's will do or say anything to get elected.

Is it possible for any sound logical mind to hope with any success to guide crowds by the aid of reasonable counsels and arguments, when any objection or contradiction, senseless though it may be, can be made and when such objection may find more favor with the people, whose powers of reasoning are superficial? Men in masses and the men of the masses, being guided solely by petty passions, paltry beliefs, traditions and sentimental theorems, fall a prey to party dissension, which hinders any kind of agreement even on the basis of a perfectly reasonable argument. Every resolution of a crowd depends upon a chance or packed majority, which, in its ignorance of political secrets, puts forth some ridiculous resolution that lays in the administration a seed of anarchy.
11. The political has nothing in common with the moral. The ruler who is governed by the moral is not a skilled politician, and is therefore unstable on his throne. He who wishes to rule must have recourse both to cunning and to make-believe. Great national qualities, like frankness and honesty, are vices in politics, for they bring down rulers from their thrones more effectively and more certainly than the most powerful enemy. Such qualities must be the attributes of the kingdoms of the GOYIM, but we must in no wise be guided by them.

Can they defend themselves from an external foe? It is unthinkable; for a plan broken up into as many parts as there are heads in the mob, loses all homogeneity, and thereby becomes unintelligible and impossible of execution.
WE ARE DESPOTS
21. It is only with a despotic ruler that plans can be elaborated extensively and clearly in such a way as to distribute the whole properly among the several parts of the machinery of the State: from this the conclusion is inevitable that a satisfactory form of government for any country is one that concentrates in the hands of one responsible person. Without an absolute despotism there can be no existence for civilization which is carried on not by the masses but by their guide, whosoever that person may be. Our State, marching along the path of peaceful conquest, has the right to replace the horrors of war by less noticeable and more satisfactory sentences of death, necessary to maintain the terror which tends to produce blind submission. New Earthlike Planets Discovered!

On Monday European scientist announced the discovery of three Super Earth type planets. Located some 42-lightyears from Earth, in the constellations Doradus and Pictor, these worlds orbit a sun that is less massive than our own. "Does every single star harbor planets and, if yes, how many," commented Michel Mayor from Switzerland's Geneva Observatory. "We may not yet know the answer but we are making huge progress towards it," Mayor stated. Each of the three planets, one larger in scale than the next is estimated to be 4.2 times larger than Earth, the other two are 6.7, and 9.4 times as massive. Each planet also orbits its star at different speeds. One planet takes only four days to complete one orbit as opposed to Earth taking 365 days! The second planet takes only three days, and the third twenty days. Mayor and his fellow scientist use what's called a High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher, or HARPS for short to locate planets. This telescope is located at the La Silla observatory in Chile. The HARPS telescope uses spectrographic measurements, in other words as a planet or planets orbit a star the mass of those worlds causes the star to wobble, and this movement is what the HARPS telescope measures. So far more than 270 worlds have been discovered using this method. The majority of these worlds are estimated to be the size of Jupiter or Saturn.

Italy Uses Military to Police own Cities

In a move that some in Italy's government considers controversial, military units are being used in Italian cities to help police in troubled areas. "There is a strong call from citizens for better control of the streets, for improved safety," commented Defense Minister Ignazio La Russa. "My hope is that particularly in the evening, in the cities, these troops can ensure greater safety," La Russa continues to remark. If I didn't know better, I would've thought they were describing East L. A. instead of Italy. The plan consists of a six month trial period to be renewed afterwards if necessary. Opposition to this plan comes from the Democratic wing of the government. Mr. La Russa defended his decision by saying "Very often just seeing a [soldier's] uniform can be sufficient as prevention. I don't see what the problem is." Far be it for me to burst Mr. La Russas' bubble, but that kind of thinking just doesn't work, in fact I don't think it ever has. It didn't work for America in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and now Iraq. Frankly I'm rather surprised that violence exist in Italy to such a degree that it requires the intervention of military units to protect the populace from itself.

Awesome, absolutely awesome! Good story line, believable acting, and spectacular fight scenes. Edward Nortens' portrayal of Bruce Banner was right on the money. Tim Roths' character made for a perfect nemesis, and Liv Tyler, what can I say, she's beautiful. William Hurts' character was well done, and I especially like how they've tied in Ironman to this film with the cameo appearance of Robert Downey Jrs' character Tony Stark. I've got a feeling that a live action Marvel 2-in-1 might be in the works. But the best thing I like about this movie is that they didn't try to make it look like it came out of a comic book, like that forgettable Hulk film that director Ang Lee made a few years ago. I have to say this film is on an even par with Ironman, definitely worth the price of admission!

Recently in Canada an evangelical pastor by the name of Stephen Boisson was taken to court and ordered to for all intents and purposes to renounce his faith, and to never again take a moral stand against homosexuality. On top of this incredible court order pastor Boisson was ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution for " damages for pain and suffering" caused by stating his beliefs. In 2002 Boisson had wrote a letter to the editor of a local news paper describing his views on homosexuality as "wicked". "Children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights," the letter reads. It's funny isn't? For years gays and lesbians have struggled to have their voices heard, and when they finally achieve it, they censor anyone else trying to make their views heard, simply because their point of view happens to run contrary to theirs. It's just another example of hypocrisy. To me the whole gay- lesbian concept is a humorous study in hypocrisy. How does a man look at another man's hairy, smelly buttocks and fall in love? Follow me on this. A man inserts his fully erect penis into another man's rectum, for what? To do what? There are no pleasure spots in the rectum, at least none that I've read about. So what could the recipient of this loving attention be getting from this. I won't insult you by going into great detail that men do not have ovaries, unless of course we're talking about an individual who has undergone a sex change, or was born an hermaphrodite. I don't know, when you talk about inserting a penis in an orifice that the body uses to eject fecal matter, and then you expect me to consider this to be normal human behavior? I don't know, maybe I'm just old-fashioned, or I could just be an insecure heterosexual male. It seems clear to me that homosexuals don't miss the vigina that much, otherwise why go through with the whole pointless exercise of anal sex? Granted reproduction is not the only purpose in life, but it definitely falls in the top five. Lesbian sex, although not as quite as disturbing as gay sex it's still puzzling to me. Outside of oral sex and a few well executed finger movements, Lesbians also use sex toys to achieve climax. Curiously most these devices are shaped like a man's penis when erect. And when one or both women decide to have children, they have to go to a clinic and be artificially inseminated. Bearing these facts in mind, clearly Lesbians do not miss men, else why would they need to go to a sperm bank to be impregnated, or why shape the sexual devices they use to resemble a man's penis? And yet as with homosexuals I'm supposed to accept this type of behavior as normal? These are just observations I've made whenever I see gays & lesbians have their colorful festivals in San Francisco, or during marches for legitimacy of same sex marriage. They seem to want people to accept their lifestyle, and yet their lifestyle is anything but normal. Please don't misunderstand me, if these people wish to behave in this fashion then so be it, just don't force the rest of us to accept it. And for the love of God don't try to indoctrinate young children into believing that this kind of activity is normal, let them decide that on their own. I personally believe that no one is born gay or lesbian, that just like pedophilia it is something that is learned.

The time to speak up is now call elected representatives and let them know that you are sick of dropping half your paycheck in the gas tank to get to your dead-end job. It is time to be angry to start confronting these representatives in their homes late at night. I am not condoning violence but we must get their attention. Nevertheless, let your presence be known. Passive resistance comes to mind. Ask very uncomfortable questions in public. Most importantly remember that trust in a privately owned banking system is what got us into this mess. Never let the bankers forget that.

New Executive Order for Illegal Aliens

A new executive order was passed down from President Bush that requires all contractors who do work for the U.S. government to verify their legal status. The order was signed last Friday, and would require the use of an electronic system to aid in verification of the contractor's employees. "It is the policy of the executive branch to enforce fully the immigration laws of the United States, including the detection and removal of illegal aliens and the imposition of legal sanctions against employers that hire illegal aliens," part of the executive order reads. As profound as this executive order must sound to those Americans who've been begging their elected officials to do something about the illegal alien issue, I for one can't help but be cynical about it. First of all, why after almost eight years in office did President Bush choose now to issue this order? Secondly the order only applies to those contractors hired by the U.S. government, but why doesn't it cover the private sector as well? So what if contactors employees are legal while working for the government, if the majority of illegal aliens are continuing to underbid legal U.S. residents in the private sector, then what is the executive order really good for? I can't help but see this as just another political ploy by a Republican president to convince American voters that their government is doing something, and at the same time improve the Republican Party's image during an election year.

The CDC along with the FDA is urging American consumers not to eat raw tomatoes. This concern stems from a salmonella outbreak in several US states. The cause is still under investigation, but of course, I have a theory. Due to the ever-darker workforce from our friends south of the boarder and their unsanitary third world technology pointed out by LT Dan in the earlier story. You do not need to go far to figure out why we are having so many Americas getting sick from produce. Is this really saving us money to have these deceased infested little brown monsters performing manual labor around our food? I think not. Remember do not drink the water.

Here's another new food additive courtesy of you friendly neighbors south of the border. A rare type of tuberculosis called Mycobactrium bovis strain. This strain, which had been practically eliminated in America over a century ago, has started to make itself known again amongst Hispanic immigrants in Southern California. This strain seems to be appearing in illegal, unpasteurized dairy products smuggled past the Mexican border, or Hispanic families living in the U.S. making what's called "bathtub cheese", because they manufacture it in their bathtubs, or backyard troughs. Cases of this type of TB have been rising in San Diego County, mainly among children who consume dairy foods made from cattle infected with the strain, this from the journal of Emerging Infectious Diseases. The department of Agriculture has been cracking down on those people who make and street vendors who sell bathtub cheese. Besides TB bovis, this type of illegally made cheese in the past has been found to harbor Salmonella, Listeria, and E. Coli. U.S. health officials are monitoring the situation closely, should this strain start to spread beyond the Hispanic communities in San Diego. Well all I can really say is, Welcome to the third world!

The Dow Jones industrial will eventually crash. Are you ready? No tax refund check or interest rate cut will help the damage is done. Within the world market, the Federal Reserve cooperation note has lost its buying power. The fractional reserve banking shell game has been found out. Their money has no value just debt and a lot of it. We have spent so much that your great-grandchildren will be paying the bill. Fuel and food prices reflect this fact and it will get worst. I have predicted food and gas vouchers in the future to keep what is left of this country afloat. This will keep the population working and depending on the authorities for the basics of life. The good news is this will all eventually wake up some individuals to take action. It would seem that the tree of liberty needs a little watering.

Car Rams into Bike Race

Tuesday a car driven by 28 year old Juan Campos drove headlong into a Bicycle race. In the ensuing wreck Alejandro Alverez 37 was killed, and 10 other cyclist were injured. Jose Alfredo Rodriguez the police investigator in charge, believes that Mr. Campos was drunk at the time, and had fallen asleep at the wheel. Now here's where it gets complicated, Mr. Campos claims American citizenship. Supposedly Mr. Campos is a resident of Brownsville, Texas; Todd Huizinga the U.S consulate spokesperson says his department is investigating that. If in fact Mr. Campos is a U.S. citizen well Mexico continue to prosecute him for his crime, or will they follow the American governments' example when dealing with illegal aliens and deport them without paying the consequences for their crimes? Considering the number of U.S. citizens that are killed each year by illegal aliens drunk behind the wheel, I for one am curious to see how this one plays itself out.

It sickens me greatly to go inside the modern day cooperate hospital. To look upon the sick and injured treated like cattle. Any trip to the emergency room starts by presenting your insurance card with a promise to pay any remaining balance due. What happened to compassion first? To look at our fellow man as a patent not a paycheck. I remember the days of community hospitals that were run by doctors who based their decisions on the quality of care. Not by money, hungry lawyers looking to bleed you dry when you are in need of help. A week ago Reverend Michael Pfleger made such a statement. Addressing the congregation at the Trinity United Church of Christ Rev. Pfleger decided to do a little political bashing from the pulpit. "She just always thought that, This is mine. I'm Bill's wife. I'm white," Rev. Pfleger was alluding to what Senator Hillary Clinton might have been thinking before the first primary. Rev. Pfleger continued his rant "Hey, I'm Barack Obama." Pfleger continues to insinuate what Sen. Clinton was thinking by saying "And she said, Oh damn, where did you come from? I'm white. I'm entitled. There's a black man stealing my show." Sen. Obama naturally denounced Pfleger's remarks calling them "backward-looking rhetoric" which I couldn't agree with more. Rev. Pfleger apologized soon after saying "These words are inconsistent with Senator Obama's life and message and I am deeply sorry if they offended Senator Clinton or anyone else who saw them." So he's deeply sorry he offended Sen. Clinton. Just what kind of feelings did he think his remarks would engender? They were hardly complimentary. Also I find it curious that he should apologize so soon after making those comments, Rev. Wright I don't believe ever really apologized for his inflammatory remarks. The damage is done, being remorseful won't help. I can't help but see this for what it is, an activist who used race to damage the image of a rival political opponent, anyone with an I.Q. higher than 20 can see that. Rev. Pfleger is the minister of Saint Sabina Roman Catholic Church, which resides on the southwest side of Chicago, and whose membership is exclusively black.

This came one day after the Cambodian Airforce withdrew a similar report of an unknown plane crash. Two years ago astronomers from the University of California, Berkley and the W.M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii took several high resolution photos of Jupiter. The photos showed an increase in turbulence, and storms in Jupiter's atmosphere, photos taken earlier this month show that the storms still have not receded. Imke de Pater, professor of astronomy at U.C. Berkley referred to the images taken with the Hubble Space telescope, and the 10 meter Keck 2 telescope as a "major upheaval". These new images were first seen after Jupiter emerged from its passage behind the Sun. It is believed that these photos show that Jupiter is experiencing climate change, which astronomers predicted would happen four years ago."One of the most notable changes we observe in both the Hubble and Keck images is the change from a rather bland, quiescent band surrounding the Great Red Spot just over a year ago to one that is incredibly turbulent at both sides of the spot," de Pater stated. "During all previous HST observations and spacecraft encounters, starting with Voyager in 1979, such turbulence was seen only on the west or left side of the spot." An analysis done by Philip S. Marcus, a professor of fluid dynamics U.C. Berkley believes that these new images supports a 2004 conjecture that Jupiter is indeed experiencing Global Warming, with the planets temperature rising by at least 10 degrees Celsius, while getting warmer at the equator, and cooler at the south pole. "The appearance of the planets cloud system from just north of the equator down to 34 degrees south latitude keeps surprising us with changes and, in particular, with new cloud features that haven't been previously observed," remarked professor Marcus. "Whether or not Jupiter's climate has changed due to a predicted warming, the cloud activity over the last two and a half years shows dramatically that something unusual has happened." Let's not forget about Mars, which is experiencing climate change at such an accelerated rate, that according to scientist the planet may lose its' southern ice cap. NASA scientist claim that Mars has warmed by about 0.5 degrees Celsius since 1970. This NASA scientist say is similar to the type of warming Earth has been experiencing during the same time period. So what does all this have to do with what's happening on Earth? There're no people on either of these planets, and no industry to speak of, yet these worlds too suffer from Global Warming. So perhaps, just perhaps Global Warming is not a result of Human activity but rather a natural phenomena.

Spike Lee Angered over Eastwood War Films

At the Cannes film festival Spike Lee bashed Clint Eastwood for not portraying black soldiers in his films Flags of Our Fathers, and Letters From Iwo Jima. " There were many African-Americans who survived that war and who were upset at Clint for not having one [in the films]. That was his version: the negro soldier did not exist. I have a different version," Mr. Lee said at a press conference to promote his own war film Miracle at St. Anna. Mr. Lee claimed that Mr. Eastwood was apprised of the fact that black soldiers were involved in the battle of Iwo Jima. So what is Mr. Lee's purpose in lashing out at Mr. Eastwood for what may or may not have been an oversight? When I'm watching a film, I'm usually too engrossed in the story line to be counting the number of ethnic races represented in the film. I would have to ask what Mr. Lee would like to see done to ensure that this never happens in Hollywood again, perhaps some sort of "Affirmative Action" rule that mandates that a certain percentage of ethnic races to be represented when filming? So much for creative freedom. In my opinion Mr. Lee has taken a small error and magnified it out of all proportion. Even if it wasn't an error it's still Mr. Eastwoods film, and if he wants to exclude that portion from his film, then he can. Mr. Lee has his own movie coming out about the all black members of the 92^nd Buffalo Division, and should Mr. Lee decided to exclude any white soldiers in his film, then he too has a right to do just that. What strikes me as curious is the timing that Spike Lee choose to reprimand Clint Eastwood. Both of Eastwoods films came out in 2006 and 2007 respectively. That means Mr. Lee had almost two full years to voice his opposition to how Eastwood made his films. So why did Spike Lee wait until the 2008 Cannes film festival with all the worlds media in attendance to denounce Clint Eastwoods movies? I believe the timing was a deliberate attempt by Spike Lee to gain maximum exposure for his film by insinuating that Clint Eastwood is racist for not having any black soldiers in his cast.

Again Industrial Light & Magic did a wonderful job with the special effects that it almost compensated for the weak story line. The plot was supposed to tie up some loose ends, mainly what became of Marian Ravenwood, Marcus Brody, and Indiana Jones. Shia LaBeoufs' character while entertaining to watch, it was a bit more than I could handle when it was learned during the film that he was suppose to be Indiana's' son. That was just a little too convenient. Aside from that the film had action galore, and slapstick comedy. This is definitely a popcorn flick, just don't expect the same kind of engaging storyline that Ironman had.

The Rasberry crazy ants as they are now known derived from somewhere in the Caribbean, and take their name from the exterminator who first discovered them, Tom Rasberry. This invasion would not have made news if it were not for the ant's unusual appetite. Electrical systems of all types are on the menu. From heating and air conditioning units to the home computer, even a report of residential main breaker box. All have been destroyed or damaged by these annoying creatures. Compound this problem by the ant's erratic behavior, which makes them very difficult to kill and gives them the second part of their name, crazy. With multiple queens and no certain pattern of colony growth, the Environmental Protection Agency has stepped in to find a way to contain them. Not a moment too soon the ants have been spotted in the near the Johnson space Center. Houston you have a problem.

In early June the U.S. senate will begin a very heated (no pun intended) debate on an upcoming Global Warming bill. This bill called the Climate Security Act is not expected to be passed this year, but more likely next year with the swearing in of the new president. "I really believe that if we don't get across the finish line this year, we will next year," commented bill supporter Jeremy Symons, who is the executive director of the global warming campaign for the National Wildlife Federation. "This is the first bill to have a serious chance of getting passed," continued Mr. Symons. Other notable supporters of the bill are Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., and John Warner, R-Va. The bill if passed would reduce supposed green house emissions by around 65% by the year 2050. So it's going to take 41 to 42 years to see the full benefit of this bill if passed. Obviously the U.S. government doesn't believe that an ecological collapse is imminent, or they would have purposed a bill that would affect these changes with greater speed. If passed it is believed that this bill will slow, or prevent the following; 1.Massive flooding along U.S. coastline. 2. Hurricanes of greater numbers and strength. 3. Drought in Midwest farm states. 4. Lastly an increase in wildfires in the western part of the United States. If you require a visual for any of these scenarios, let me suggest the movie Earthquake starring the late Charlton Heston and Eva Garbor. It's a great B film. I'm sorry but I just can't take this seriously. So far scientist around the world have shown me two things A. the amount of pollution Humans create, and B. how weather patterns work. None of these global warming scientists have yet to make a solid, definitive connection between Human activity, and changes in weather. Even Greenpeace founder Patrick Moore has been quoted saying that there was no proof that Humans are responsible for global warming.

Some of the techniques are nothing more than common sense. Lowering your speed, cleaning out unnecessary weight out of your car, I cannot stand a dirty car anyway. Using cruise control has some mixed opinion; I personally will never own a car without it. Here is where some suggestions get dicey. Slow down instead of braking, putting your car in neutral while traveling down hills, drafting, turning the car off before putting it into park. I do not think any of these suggestions are worth your safety just to save money. I guess what concerns me the most is that my fellow travelers of the road being preoccupied with their gas mileage and are not paying attention what they should, the road.

From May 19^th to June 6^th a representative of the United Nations will be visiting eight U.S. cities in an effort to discern the level of racism in America. "The special rapporteur will…gather first hand information on issues related to racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance,"a U.N. spokesperson said on Friday. Doudou Diene, who was a Senegalese lawyer, will be conducting the probe. Mr. Diene will be visiting Washington D.C., New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Omaha, New Orleans, Miami, and San Juan Puerto Rico. During this eight city tour Mr. Diene will be meeting with local and federal officials along with lawmakers, and judicial members. Ahh yes, apparently racism is so prevalent in America that the U.N. feels it's now necessary to send a Human Rights investigator. That to me is like the pot calling the kettle black. The temerity of the United Nations never ceases to astound me. This is an international organization that made billions on the oil for food program, whose peacekeepers raped women and young girls, an organization whose Human Rights Committee members comes from some of the most radical, and violent regimes in the world. I've written in the past that the only place racism exist in America is in the mind of the black man and woman. Through the media, and political groups, black men and women are continually feed images of a time that no longer exist in American society. I've also wrote in past posts that although some racism still exist in America, it is not even close to the level that it once achieved. Since September 11^th 2001 some 800 racially motivated incidents against Muslim, Arab, or Asian decent have been investigated by federal authorities. And there is the difference. That these incidents were reported and that action was taken to rectify the problem, and not to simply sweep it under the carpet as it were. Although 800 sounds like a lot, if you do the math that equals out to about 100 cases a year. Also when you put that into perspective with an American population that's well over 350 million, suddenly those 800 racial incidents do not sound like a lot.

"I suspect if you looked back 60 years ago and tried to guess where Israel would be at that time, it would be hard to be able to project such a prosperous, hopeful land." That's laying it on kind of think. His talking about a country that from its very inception has been plagued with violence. An early product of the United Nations, Israel was to be a homeland for all Jews, even though that particular parcel of land once called Palestine was not populated primarily by people of Jewish decent. In its' 60 year existence Israel has been subjected to war, and terrorism. In the last 60 years Israel's policies toward the Palestinians has turned that nation into an apartied state. You have young Palestinian men with explosive belts, or vests looking for targets of opportunity, you have Israeli attack copters firing rockets into apartment buildings in an effort to kill Hamas ring leaders. And last but not least you have Israeli military units moving through Palestinian suburbs, bulldozing homes of suicide bombers and leaving their families on the streets. If that is supposed to be a shining example of democracy, then you can have it! Also I might add in the 60 years of its' existence, Israel has not influenced one nation in the region to change its form of government to one more democratic. Taking all that into account, what value does Israel really hold for the United States? And are the Jewish people any better off now that they have a nation of their own, surrounded on three sides by enemies with their backs literally to the sea?

Now for the first time, news has surfaced of tests on Human Embryos' is being conducted to see if they can be modified. Some watch groups however have condemned this kind of research as trying to create "designer babies". One author however said that the studies were centered on stem cells. The author also noted that the research was done on an abnormal embryo that had no chance of ever developing into a baby. Dr. Zev Rosenwaks who is the director of the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center remarked that "None of us wants to make designer babies". The embryo that was tested had extra chromosomes that made it nonviable. Following the same type of procedure used with animals, a gene was inserted that would act as a maker that can easily be tracked over time. The result that scientist were looking for, that a gene when introduce into an abnormal embryo could still be tracked in stem cells that are taken from the embryo. No stem cells however were taken from this embryo. Although I see the potential benefit of stem cell research I can understand and in some ways share the fear that certain watch dog groups have. If left unchecked, this type of research could take a turn for the worst. People paying top dollar to have their future children genetically altered to suit their own desires. Hair color, stamina, intelligence, or athletic ability could all be chosen before pregnancy and then administered after conception. While those how can't afford to pay the exorbitant price will be left with children who might one day be considered "second class". Sound farfetched? Just remember we live in a time of the Internet, wireless communications, as well as several other things we take for granted every day, just think 15 to 20 years ago all this was science fiction. With that in mind, is it really so hard to accept the possibility?

SPEED RACER

Some anime and video game titles translate well to film while others do not. This film definitely falls into the latter. Written and directed by the Wachowski Brothers, this film tried a little too hard to capture the anime feel. With over the top special effects and childish humor that kind of left me feeling sick, like those beef and bean burritos I ate the other night. The acting was believable, and the racing scenes were fantastic. Let's not forget Christina Ricci in the role as Trixie, which she portrayed quite well. Also John Goodman as Pops Racer, Susan Sarandon, and Emile Hirsch as Speed Racer all did quite well in the portrayal of their characters. If the Wachowski Brothers didn't try so hard to make a live action movie more anime in appearance then this would have been a great film. Long time fans of the anime series will not be pleased with what they see. If you haven't already seen this film, then save your money and wait for it to come out on cable.

Myanmar Cyclone and Global Warming

Continuing my coverage of what I can only describe as natural disaster week, we now have the tragedy that has occurred in Myanmar. With a death toll that could exceed 100,000, the cleanup promises to be long and painful. Amidst all this death and destruction we have Al Gore, self proclaimed deity of weather, and messiah of the new faith, taking this opportunity to push his beliefs on the rest of us. During an interview on May 6^th on NPRs' Fresh Air hosted by Terry Gross, Al Gore made the incredible leap that what happened in Myanmar was a direct consequence of global warming. "And as we're talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated" Gore remarked. "And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China-and we're seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming." I don't mean to be picky but I believe the catch word in that last sentence is might. Gore went on to explain that it was global warming that was affecting ocean temperatures, and thus causing these destructive storms to manifest. "It's also important to note that the emerging consensus among the climate scientist is although any individual storm can't be linked singularly to global warming-we've always had hurricanes," that's an interesting admission from the prophet of climate change. "Nevertheless, the trend toward more Category 5 storms – the larger ones and trend toward stronger and more destructive storms appear to be linked to global warming and specifically to the impact of global warming on higher ocean temperatures in the top couple of hundred feet of the ocean, which drives convection energy and moisture into these storms and makes them more powerful." So it appears to Al Gore and the climate scientist that there's a connection between global warming and severe storms. I'm sorry but when you use words such as might, or appear, to explain a hypothesis to me it sounds very noncommittal. Also throughout that entire statement I might add, Al Gore failed to make one connection between Human activity and global warming as it relates to these severe storms. Even CNN meteorologist Rob Marciano, one of the few meteorologist not silenced by the eco – Nazi's, disputed the claim in October 2007 of any correlation between recent severe storms and global warming.

Chilean Volcano Continues to Erupt!

The Chaiten volcano which started to spew ash and smoke last Thursday has increased with lava now flowing from the summit. This past Tuesday the provincial capital of Chaiten as well as other nearby settlements were ordered to completely evacuate. Rain fall in the effected region has already turned the ash to mud, with the town of Chaiten the most heavily affected. The few remaining citizens of Chaiten who chose to stay behind have now been evacuated to two navy ships. For the last five days the volcanos' continuous eruptions has sent plumes of smoke and ash well into the stratosphere, across Patagonia all the way to the Atlantic. Carmen Fernandez who heads Chiles' emergency bureau said of the lava seeping from the volcano " is very small and very thick, so it is moving slowly. " Also being evacuated is the town of Futaleufu which is some 75 miles east of Chaiten , and is near the Argentina border . Reports from officials in Argentina indicate that large areas in the southern part of that country are now experiencing ash fall .

Volcano Rumbles In Chile

A volcano near the town of Chaiten, Chile ejected ash and smoke on Thursday, causing the majority of the town to evacuate. Only 45 of the 4,500 residents of Chaiten chose to remain. A layer of ash now covers houses, trees, cars, and streets, giving the place the look of a ghost town. The town of Chaiten is just 750 miles south of the capital, Santiago. During Thursday's eruption the volcano released large columns of smoke that reached an altitude of 12 miles, the governments' emergency bureau reported. Prevailing winds also drove the smoke and ash to other population centers in the region, across the Andes and into Argentina where two airlines had to suspend flights due to poor visibility. Most of Chaiten's inhabitants were relocated to the close by cities of Puerto Montt and Castro. " This has been a historic catastrophe for us, but we will rebuild from the ashes." said Chaiten mayor Jose Fritis. Yes I'm sure that Al Gore is on his way even now, with a giant S emblazoned on his chest, and with the power of the earth spirit Gaia he'll make everything lush and green for the embattled citizens of Chaiten.

This invention promises 0 to 60 in four seconds with a top speed of 125 MPH. Charging takes three and a half hours with a range of 225 miles. All this sounds great but the big news is that there are plans for a family car in the near future.

IRONMAN

Without a doubt this was a great action movie. I've got to give credit where credit is due Hollywood did a great job with this one. Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Tony Stark was superb. The special effects were also astounding, but then again we're talking about Industrial Light & Magic, and anything they do is solid gold. As for a supporting cast I never thought I'd say this but Gwyneth Paltroh was hot! Jeff Bridges and Terrence Howard along with Shaun Toub did an excellent job as well. I don't want to spoil anything but when the film ends and the credits start to roll don't leave yet. There is an extra scene at the end of the credits that you might find interesting. Unless the Hulk or Dark Knight is supreme then this will be the action movie of the summer.

Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright and The Press Club

Monday morning Rev. Wright spoke at the press club, and was given the chance to address some of the criticism leveled against him. Having watched it in its entirety, I found it thoroughly entertaining. In fact I don't think there exist a more perfect example of character assassination, except perhaps Al Gore when he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize for that unproven hypothesis he calls Global Warming. Smug, arrogant, and unashamed he made some of the most outlandish statements I've not heard since the first radio broadcast of Air America. Instead of meeting his critiques head on he states that any criticism against what he says is an attack on the black church, and has chosen to hide behind that statement. See what I mean? There's no such thing as honest debate in America anymore. If you disagree or have a point of view that differs from the status quo you're automatically labeled. During his moment in the limelight Rev. Wright blamed America for all the supposed woes that blacks suffer from. From the U.S. government creating the H.I.V. virus to specifically kill blacks to introducing illegal drugs in poor neighborhoods to get black men incarcerated, and my favorite that America brought 9-11 on itself. I've got to admit what he said makes for wonderful fiction. If this man were a film director and not a spiritual leader, then I'd eagerly wait for the movie to come out. So according to him the U.S. government created the H.I.V. virus. I'm sorry but the U.S. gov. can't even balance the national budget let alone devise a virus to wipeout certain ethnic groups. As for the government introducing illegal drugs into poor black neighborhoods, I blame blacks for that. Blacks who listened to politicians and believed that because of their ethnicity they were disadvantaged and took welfare. As for the drugs let's not forget about those wonderful cartels in South America. And finally his use of the biblical verse " do unto others as you would have done unto you " to describe the terrorist attack America suffered on 9-11-01. You always have to be careful when using biblical verses to make a point, because those verses are open to interpretation it can come back to bite you ……..like right now. There has been terrorism in the Middle East in one form or other since the time of the Roman Empire. Before Israel became a legitimate state that particular region was under the control of Great Britain, and they too suffered from terrorist attacks. So for Reverend Wright to solely blame 9-11 on American policy to me is ignorance. As I've said in pervious posts Reverend Wright is a poor student of history. Let me finish this post with an observation. I've noticed a commonality with men like Rev. Wright, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton; these are men who seem to hate America in some form. Accusing America of racism, inequality, or some type of injustice, and yet all three of these men have a common bond. They've become wealthy thanks to the opportunities that America provides. These men have built their fortunes on preaching hate.

The announcement came earlier today, which caused a short-lived rally on Wall Street. Investors are still cautious and the market still closed in the red. It would seem that everybody has lost confidence in the dollar and for good reason. Who wants to put their investments into a currency that the president just gives away. We can look for congress to pass another economic stimulus package buy the end of the next quarter to try to offset this latest cut. More free worthless money!

Great White Shark Attack!

Last week 66 year old triathlete David Martin was attacked and killed by a great white shark off the coast of California. The shark attacked with such speed that it actually lifted Mr. Martin out of the water with his legs enclosed in the shark's mouth. The attack occurred off Solana Beach California, where Mr. Martin had been swimming 150 yards from shore. It was about 7a.m. about the time when predators such as the great white are feeding. The last time a swimmer was killed by a shark in San Diego waters was in 1994. That victim was a 25 year old woman Michelle Von Emster, who was swimming alone and at night off Ocean Beach on April 14 . From what I understand night time or near dusk is when sharks and other predators begin to feed. You see this is why I'll never swim in the ocean again. You have to understand that when you go out into the ocean you're no longer on top of the food chain. I was down at South Beach Miami Florida two years ago, and just weeks before I got there several swimmers had been seriously injured. Something is bringing these predators closer to shore. Whether it's lack of food or beachside restaurants dumping in the ocean your guess is as good as mine, but for the foreseeable future I won't be swimming in the ocean and if you value your lives neither will any of you.

Israel drops the A-bomb on Jimmy Carter

The A-bomb means being called an anti-Semite. This label is the modern day equivalent of the Salem witch trials for its very mention usually means political death for the accused. I find this more intriguing considering that Jimmy Carter is one of the most liberal politicians alive. This just proves once again to the rest of the political whores in Washington not to question their Jewish masters. To do so means they will have to wear the scarlet letter and be forever shunned. The big difference is that Mr. Carter has nothing to lose. He is at the end of his political career and has no one to answer to for his actions. This makes him dangerous because he can be truthful. Believe me I am not a Jimmy Carter fan or supporter at all but really respect what I think he is trying to do. The nine eleven terrorist that crashed planes into the twin towers for a purpose and it was not because they dislike Americans. The talks with Hamas might be the only way of stopping the next terror attack on U.S. soil. With that reason in mind, I for one would like to hear what they have to say.

Al Sharpton

In the aftermath of the acquittal of three NYPD detectives, Rev Al Sharpton has promised to close New York City down . At Al Sharpton's National Action Network office , the Rev. Sharpton said " We strategically know how to stop the city so people stand still and realize that you do not have the right to shoot down unarmed ,innocent civilians." Rev. Sharpton continued by saying " This city is going to deal with the blood of Sean Bell." Sean Bell was shot and killed in 2006 after leaving a Queen's strip club with some friends by the three NYPD detective's . Sean Bell's fiancé commented on the court ruling saying " April 25 , 2008 :They killed Sean all over again . That's what it felt like to us ." The three detectives waived their right to a trial by jury over concerns that the jurist would not be impartial . Also something I found interesting is the fact that Al Sharpton has not used the word racism to describe the killing . I guess it's possible that the fact that of the three detectives two are black might have something to do with this ? I wonder if had the situation been different and the victim had been white , would Al Sharpton go to such lengths to see that justice and equality are served ? I'll let you decide .

The next step in the food category will be food vouchers because the Federal Reserve cooperation note has no value. Also, look for vouchers for fuel and medication. As this situation will get worst as people start making more bank and food runs. Your survival will depend upon your current employment since almost no one owns enough land to supply food to feed themselves. The major news media will continue to hide these facts from you to keep from a nationwide panic, but they cannot hide the elephant in the room for much longer. Therefore, do not get caught off guard use some common sense in the coming months when it comes to you financial decisions. Be prepared!

Oil Prices Surpass $119.00 a Barrel

Oil prices have now exceeded $119.00 a barrel Tuesday during trading , and is expected to increase beyond $120.00 a barrel . Market analyst seem to think this has something to do with the falling value of U.S. currency against the Euro . I'm not a market analyst or stock broker , and yet i can't help but be a little suspicious about the reasoning for the price hike . The excuse that it's the falling value of the dollar just doesn't convince me , the dollar's value has been dropping steadily for the last 3-to-4 years . Just a couple of years ago oil was selling for around $55.00 a barrel with fears that it could surpass $60.00 . So why this unprecedented increase in the price of crude ? It's very simple supply & demand with an under current of greed . Just last week a Saudi official said he saw no reason to increase production at this time . Saudi Arabia cut back production several months ago . Mexico's oil production slipped by around 7.8% , that's around 2.91 million barrel's a day . Then you have the oil companies in America that haven't built a new refinery since 1980 . This is why oil in the United States cost so much , because the majority of the oil that's imported has to be refined outside the U.S. I try to avoid conspiracy theories but in this case I'll indulge in one . This current state of high gas prices reminds me of what happened in the early to mid 1970's . It was shortly after the Yom Kippur War when OPEC decided to cut back production , and resulted in the gas shortage America suffered . If you'll remember OPEC mainly consist of Arab countries . Because America supported Israel with equipment , those Arab countries voted to cut back production as a way to punish America for its backing of Israel . I believe the same thing is occurring now . With U.S. troops in Iraq for over five years now , this is OPEC's way of saying get out .

Bill Maher

Last week cable talk show host Bill Maher had made some rather insensitive comments about Pope Benedict XVI in particular , and Christianity , and the church in general . Naturally this has set off a wave of indignation from Christians around the world , who immediately demanded an apology . Bill Maher's apology was half-hearted at best . Yet as much as this might bother Christians to hear this , but Bill Maher was correct . Pope Benedict was a member of the Nazi party , where Bill Maher made the mistake was not mentioning the fact that he ( the pope ) did not willingly join the ranks of the Nazi party but was conscripted . This i feel was probably deliberate . Anyone who's seen his show Real Time with Bill Maher will understand that Mr. Maher's political ideology is about as far left as one can get . You must also understand that his show is political commentary , it's not a news network reporting the facts . Even though i find Mr. Mahers statements about Christians and the church to be venomous , I don't believe he should be censored for making them . This to me is free speech at in its purist form . If we censor ever individual who said something we didn't agree with , or found hurtful then we might as will go through our lives wearing a gag . No one is going to agree 100% with what you say , but you don't therefore label them , and censor them into silence either . That to me is the problem with trying to create a world that is politically correct , it has no room for free speech only acceptable speech . I personally do not agree with Mr. Mahers politics so i do not watch his show , and for those of you who disagree with his remarks suggest you do the same , or better yet exercise your right and say exactly what you feel about him . I find that course of action to be much more productive than whining , and demanding an apology .

You can tell a lot about a society by its institutions. Schools, prisons, and universities all are indicators of what is really happening in our culture. However, with that said let us talk about what I see. There seems to be a devolution-taking place. Violence changes minds faster than ideas and the rule of survival of the fittest still reigns. Schools and universities indoctrinate the children to worship money while stripping them of any self-preservation or worth. With the value of human life losing, its importance we get as a society of self centered, immoral greedy people looking for escape thru money and power. This way of life follows the children into adulthood and eventually to prison. Here they can practice what they have learned in school. We are in a cycle, a mouse wheel if you will, that rewards crime while looking down upon common decency and respect. Even criminals worshiped as heroes in the media follows us throughout our daily lives. Sport and rap stars give examples that crime is the cool thing to do and with enough money and power, you can get away with it. This all can stop if more people would home school. By not allowing your children to except the public school propaganda, we could get a generation of decent, caring individuals who can think and act on their own. Without young, impressionable minds, the devolutionary cycle can be broken.

The Forbidden Kingdom

It's been awhile since I've seen a good chop flick . Jackie Chan and Jet Li made a great duo in this film . It had everything you come to expect from a martial arts movie Mantis ,Tiger and Drunken styles of kung-fu , also that curious Chinese ability to fly through trees . The plot is simple enough . A martial arts fable centered around a boy ( Micheal Angarno ) who must return a magical staff to its rightful owner The Monkey King ( Jet Li ) , and thus save the kingdom from the tyrannical rule of an evil warlord . Along the way he's aided by a drunk ( Jackie Chan ) , and a young peasant girl (Collin Chou ) , and a monk also played by Jet Li . In fact the only thing i didn't enjoy about the whole movie experience was the drunk at the back who couldn't keep his big mouth shut , or the guy a few rows down who kept telling him to shut up .
